About us

Our Story

Zula began long before it had a name. It started with us,

Cristina and Domingo, two people who met by chance and were brought together by something bigger than we expected.

It was March 28th, 2023, on a trip to the south of Portugal. We were both invited by friends, not knowing  this getaway would change our lives.

At first, we were just  part of a big group, sharing  laughs and casual chats. But one night we realized we were the only two who spoke Spanish, and that simple detail changed everything.

From that moment, we connected. When the trip ended, we said goodbye as friends, but that hug felt different, like something had begun. (photo: Cris visiting Domingo’s home in Switzerland for the first time)

A few days later, we decided to take a chance on that feeling, even if it meant distance, time zones, and endless FaceTime calls.

In those first months of friendship, padel became our thing. Cristina had played for years , ever since discovering the sport in Mexico, while Domingo, a lifelong football player, had never even held a padel racket.

But once we played together, something clicked. It became our space, where we laughed, learned, competed, and sometimes forgot about the distance. (photo: Domingo’s first trip to Cris’s home in Mexico)

Every game brought us closer, not just to each other, but to this feeling that sport can be something deeper. It’s not only about performance, it’s about joy, community, and self-expression.

And that’s where the idea for Zula was born.

Cristina had always struggled to find activewear that truly felt good, pieces that were comfortable, stylish, and made for real women who move, sweat, and live in motion. We wanted to create something that captured what we loved most about the game, that feeling of freedom, confidence, and connection.

Zula is our way of blending all of that: love, sport, and purpose, into something we can share with others. It’s not just a brand; it’s a story of two people who found each other through padel, and who believe that movement can bring people together.

Because for us, padel isn’t just a sport.

It’s where it all began.

Cristina & Domingo :)
